Turning of coils - fast, safe and simple

Turning of coils - fast, safe and simple

Please follow the basic rules for lifting and turning coils:

  • Only use one and two-ply web slings with coated protective hoses
  • For higher lifting capacities or narrower slings, we can after expert consultation offer four-ply PCS web slings or special versions
  • secutex protective hoses must be reinforced if the coil edge radius = 2 mm (shearing edge)
  • The web sling must be attached directly above the coil eye. The protective hose must be positioned so that the edges of the coil are covered when it is lifted and turned. The coil must be initially lifted at creep speed to allow the web sling and protective hose to position themselves correctly
  • The coil must never be allowed to roll or slip at right angles to the web sling
  • A coil must never be "pulled out" at an angle
  • Only individual, unpacked and cleanly wound coils may be turned
  • Use a non-slip surface, such as a rubber mat or secutex turning mat
  • Refer to our instruction manual or, if applicable, the company risk analysis to ensure the correct procedure is followed.
