„Precision in service and performance – with us the two go hand in hand!“, so reads the motto of the new ideas catalogue from Evers. Top quality products, comprehensive service offers, valuable tips and real life case studies make the 12th edition of the ideas catalogue a special guide for purchasing and reference. The topics it covers include lifting heavy loads, securing loads during transport, fall arrest solutions for working at height, conveying of packets and packaging of boxes and pallets.
Numbering 611 pages – 67 pages more than before – the new edition of the catalogue is not only the most comprehensive by some distance, but most of the new catalogue has been completely revised. New products that help optimise processes have been added. The main areas of focus have been chosen to suit the high demands of Evers customers. Evers GmbH (www.eversgmbh.de) relies on its innovative product and application solutions together with the extensive knowledge of our advisers to increase the productivity of its customers.
As the 'Service' section in the new ideas catalogue covers 44 pages, it is obvious that good products alone are not enough to achieve market success. A comprehensive service portfolio is becoming ever more important. Customers value a good overall package that includes expert customer advice, a simple ordering process, short delivery times, and a comprehensive after-sales service package covering assembly, maintenance, test and repair, provision of spare parts and a varied seminar programme.

Below you will find an overview of the new products and main areas of focus.
The correct lifting equipment accelerates the transport process, optimises costs and contributes towards the financial success of the company. In addition to standard products, Evers GmbH also offers bespoke special solutions for offshore applications, the transporting of large machinery and other heavy-duty load applications. In the new ideas catalogue, Evers addresses the additional requirements of its customers on special „engineering pages“. Together with its partner Axzion GKS from Langenfeld, which, like Evers, also specialises in „intelligent lifting equipment“, a close relationship is fostered with each customer to develop a solution that meets their specific needs. Standing for safe and universal quality, the five-step „Quality 5“ product development system covers design, tested materials, exact manufacture, individual documentation and testing including a load test on the 600 ton lifting beam test rig. The following lifting beams are just some of those that have been developed specially for Evers customers. These include a 280 ton two-crane lifting beam for transporting machines weighing up 280 tons around the premises of a mechanical engineering company, a modular spreader beam for lifting the rotor blades of a wind turbine, a 380 ton lifting beam with pin attachment (adjustable under load) for a Finnish nuclear power station, a modular spreader beam for turning machine components with two cranes for an industrial company.

When lifting a load, the crane hook must always be located above the load centre of gravity. If this is not the case, then the length of the load tackle has to be adjusted. The angle of load inclination is normally adjusted before the load is lifted. For shortening or lengthening the lifting tackle when unloaded, Evers GmbH offers turnbuckles, rope shortening hooks or spindle tensioners. Quite often the load centre of gravity is unknown before the lifting process begins. After the load has been lifted off the ground, it cannot be set down again, as is the case when removing half a housing from a turbine. In this situation, the load inclination must be adjusted while the load is being lifted, for example by using lifting equipment with adjustable eye suspension points, the Evers chain bypass device (for which a new German utility model application has been submitted) or a hydraulic cable length adjuster.

The new Magnum-X from SpanSet has a lifting capacity of up to 400 tons and sets new standards in terms of safety, convenience and durability. The new Magnum-X is up to 50% narrower than comparable round slings and is equipped with a compact and extremely wear-resistant hose cover made from special high-performance polyester. This reduces the round sling thickness by around a third and the weight by up to 50%. An additional sleeve, which has the lifting capacity woven into it and raised up, allows the Magnum-X to be easily identified. The protected label cannot be torn off and is sewn to the hose together with an RFID transponder.
Fall arrest: horizontal rope safety systems
Putting on your seatbelt when getting into a car is almost second nature. But how about in other scenarios? Personal safety and protecting oneself from harm should always have the highest priority. When working or moving close to an edge, such as on pipelines, crane runways, roofs, facades or warehouses, Evers experts recommend the use of a Class C EN 795 horizontal safety system. The convenient and easy to use permanent rope safety system, suitable for virtually all applications, consists of a 6 mm stainless steel V2A rope. Curves are easily negotiated owing to intermediate holders that ensure no latching and releasing is needed, and the maximum support clearance extends to up to 20 metres. The system can be used by up to four people at the same time, and the attachment heights, whether at head, waist or foot height, can be chosen on an individual basis. The modular assembly principle allows the rope safety system to be extended as desired, for example using a 90 degree curve, tensioning elements, force limiters, sliders or intermediary elements.
Unsuitable packaging is the cause of much transport damage every year. Such damage is unnecessary and avoidable. Evers GmbH offers professional, practical and secure packaging solutions that ensure products reach their destinations in perfect condition. Our latest offering is in the shape of bespoke foam packaging, made to measure for each product, that provides the best possible protection against impact and vibration forces. Computer-aided systems enable this form of packaging to be developed from different types of foam. Flexible variants also ensure more storage space and a uniform packaging solution.

HDPE air pillows fill voids in shipping packages, create a buffer zone between products and protect valuable contents from damage. What advantages do air pillows offer compared with conventional, high volume padding materials made from chips or wood-wool? The main advantage is financial. More air and less film means lower weight, less material, smaller storage requirements, less time spent packing and unpacking and less waste. In addition, the anti-static air pillows offer excellent protection against shocks and impacts. Packaged foods are kept clean and free of dust. A perforated join allows the air pillows to be easily separated from one another.
Once the air has been the released, the material volume reduces to just 1 to 2% and the film can be recycled. Produced following just-in-time methods, the „made-to-measure padding“ is available in a wide range of sizes to suit the respective requirements of every product.
The packaging system is extremely user friendly. The CIRRUS series comprises four machines suitable for any requirement – from small online companies to major logistics heavyweights. Operation of the machines is incredibly straightforward. A quick roller change and the minimum of maintenance makes them suitable for varied or central use. No dedicated staff are needed to oversee the production of air pillows. The packaging system can be integrated seamlessly into virtually all packaging processes. Machines from the CIRRUS series complement efficient workflows with their range of practical accessories. The Airworks® modular system permits a great many equipment combinations, right up to fully automated multi-station systems.
Anti-slip pallet friction inserts for securing load units, completely coated on both sides, provide extra safety due to the unique anti-slip effect on both sides and improve pallet stability up to an angle of 42 degrees. The anti-slip paper from Evers can be reused repeatedly - thus saving money - and can also help reduce the amount of other securing material needed. The pallet friction inserts meet EU safety and packaging standards, are completely silent and dust-free and do not cause blocking. They are food-compatible and also fully recyclable.
The new ideas catalogue sees Evers GmbH introducing the unique HOGBOX for pallet-free transport. Measuring half the size of a UK pallet, it is the only nestable transport container with a lid in this size. The patented design provides the perfect balance of carrying capacity and easy handling, and can be used for a wide range of products either individually or as a system with the LOADHOG lid as an end-to-end transit and replenishment solution. The HOGBOX is made from high impact polypropylene and has a 190 litre carrying capacity.
Safety first! This is particularly true for the transport industry. Even nowadays, far too many HGV loads are not secured properly and cause dangerous road accidents and expensive claims for damages. Securing a pallet correctly is not only a matter of saving money, but it is also a question of personal safety.
In the latest ideas catalogue from Evers GmbH, important tools for optimum load stability and comprehensive product protection coupled with excellent cost-efficiency can be found in the shape of user friendly semi and fully automatic pallet wrappers. The perfect pallet wrapper can be provided, regardless of capacity requirements, pallet size, load height, weight and transport systems. These extremely modern and low maintenance machines are made to strict safety standards and have a functional yet robust design.
Evers GmbH supplies VCI and desiccant products for temporary corrosion protection.
VCI packaging:
Evers GmbH markets VCI corrosion protection products from Excor® GmbH. The films bring proven anti-corrosion properties to the wide range of applications that make polyethylene film such a favourite in the packaging industry. Several different film variants are available, such as flat, hose, stretch and air pillow films, bags and covers. Additional properties, such as UV protection, increased mechanical strength, transparency and flame-resistance can also be added to the core anti-corrosion effect. The active anti-corrosion agents sublimate into the atmosphere on both sides. The user therefore does not have to be particular about which side provides the active protection. Depending on the variant in question, specific metals and alloys are protected through direct contact, but can also be protected from the vapour phase in sealed packaging. The anti-corrosion protection is guaranteed for at least two years under normal conditions.
Desiccants:
Condensation moisture is the most common cause of damage in container transport. The active agent in the highly effective products from the Swedish manufacturer Absortech that takes moisture out of the air is a simple and harmless substance commonly found in sea salt: calcium chloride. It starts to take effect at relatively low levels of humidity and is therefore superior to conventional desiccants, even at high temperatures. In addition to this, it works extremely quickly and is very effective.
The calcium chloride helps convert moisture in the atmosphere into salt water. This salt water is then collected in the desiccant product (plastic container), preventing it from escaping, and is simply disposed of down the drain when the shipment reaches its destination. Desiccant products are available as plastic poles and boxes, gel packs and bags. The number of desiccant products required depends on journey time, temperature, humidity and temperature fluctuations, the shipped goods, air volume in the container, container quality, moisture in the container base and wooden pallets.
