A standard lashing chain, grade 8 (Chinese tensioner) is 68 % heavier. The tensioner is captively connected to the chain leg due to the threading in at the shortening head link.

Size jump and more lashing capacity

Thanks to the enormously high strength of the new, patented ICE material, the continuous size jump was achieved for the first time compared to grade 8. An ICE lashing chain therefore replaces a grade 8 chain of the next largest size. A 12 ICE lashing chain has up to 60 % more lashing capacity than a grade 8 chain with the same chain size.

Guaranteed free of mix-ups The new 12 ICE lashing chain has just as logically set up to ensure no mix-ups as the other RUD chain product ranges. This includes ICE identification on each chain link and the ICE imprint on each ICE component.

Indestructible up to -60°C

The new 12 ICE chain generation can be used without limits, especially for polar and Arctic deployment at extreme temperatures as low as –60°C. The 12 ICE chain achieves this by sensational improvements to the steel used with completely new opportunities without negative effects. This enormous low temperature suitability was the reason why the new chain generation was given the name ICE.

Incorrect combinations excluded The new oval bolt also contributes to preventing mix-ups, as it cannot be combined with the other RUD grades. This reliably prevents incorrect assemblies.
