Vario coil hooks
C hooks are used in the processing industry for cost-effective handling of coils. This load handling equipment is precisely suited to one coil width, different hooks have to be used for different sizes. If the load's centre of gravity is not precisely under the crane hook, the hook under load hangs at a slant and the coil can slip off. Axzion-GKS, the specialist for load handling equipment in the worldwide SpanSet Group has redeveloped the Vario coil hook for varying coil widths.
Vario anchorage
Exchangeable eye anchorage made from special high-strength chain steel. Hooks in modern crane systems are significantly smaller, the anchorages are usually made from structural steel often no longer fit. The anchorage is exchangeable and can be subsequently adjusted, e.g. if the lifting beam is used in another hall or following installation of a new crane system.
Without counterweight
Unloaded, two strong pneumatic springs hold the crane hook anchorage in the load centre of gravity, a heavy, bulky counterweight is no longer necessary.
One hook for all coil sizes
One grip and the load centre of gravity is readjusted, the suspension eye slides on rollers into the lifting position. Decision makers positively note that they only have to procure one hook. The crane stoppage times caused by continuously rehanging the hooks are no longer necessary. Standard coil hooks are precisely suited to one coil width, different hooks have to be used for different sizes. If the load's centre of gravity is not precisely under the crane hook, the hook under load hangs at a slant and the coil can slip off.
Optional secutex impact protection
Protection of the high-quality coils by fitting them with secutex impact protection, available for all coil sizes.
"Greater flexibility due to the Vario coil hooks"
"In our works we use hooks in many places to transport sheet metal coils. Here in the loading department we have been able to replace several coil hooks with counterweight with one Vario coil hook. My employees inform me of optimum handling, especially when loading articulated vehicles. Even narrow coils can now be positioned tightly against the liftgate using the hook tip, here we used to sometimes have to work real wonders to achieve that. There is no longer a counterweight to get in the way during handling, the Vario coil hook has become substantially lighter. Our turnaround times have reduced as we no longer have to repeatedly change the hooks for different coil sizes.“
