Practical guidance on the use of anti-slip mats

Before selecting and using ARM the boundary conditions must be known. The additional restraining force to be applied, e.g. through web lashings must be determined. Further, the type, size, shape and weight of the load as well as the intended type of use and transport environment also determine the right selection. Positioning and removal of the ARM must be planned before the journey begins. During a longer journey,
partial unloading and partial loading must be taken into account. RHM are positioned between the friction partners (loaded goods and payload area or between loaded goods). If appropriate delivery forms (webs, strips, cut-to-size mats, etc.) are used, Evers RHM can in principle be used for all types of loaded goods - with the exception of bulk goods. The cut-to-size mats should not be under sized otherwise it is possible that the allowable surface pressure of the RHM could be exceeded. The size and quantity of Evers RHM must be chosen so that no components can come off or loosen following multiple braking or decelerating actions. Evers RHM are dimensionally stable, 3-dimensionally elastic and wet-resistant. Small unevennesses on the payload or loading areas can be evened out if appropriate mat thicknesses are chosen. Additional fixing can occur by the formation of a deformation depression or trough. The choice of Evers RHM should be adapted to the application with respect to material thickness, UV resistance, elongation at break and tensile strength.
