A differentiation is made between one-piece and two-piece web lashings. The one-piece web lashing (single part web lashing) is used to strap the load and therefore does not need any connecting components. The two-piece web lashing consists of a fixed end (FE), connecting component (VE), webbing and tensioning device (SE) and the adjustable end (LE), webbing and connecting component (VE). IMPORTANT: Fixings such as tie wire, rope or long-link chains are not approved as load restraints! According to EN 12195-2, the fixed end and adjustable must each be marked with the same label containing all technical information.

EN 12195-2 requires that the STF (Standard Tension Force) be given on the web lashing label.Only web lashings with this information on the label may be used for top over lashing. In addition, the allowable tensile force (Fall) has been replaced by the term lashing capacity (LC). The LC describes the allowable loading capacity of web lashings and is mandatory information on the label of all web lashings used throughout Europe.
