STF - Standard Tension Force
EN 12195-2 requires that the STF (Standard Tension Force) be given on the web lashing label.Only web lashings with this information on the label may be used for top over lashing. In addition, the allowable tensile force (Fall) has been replaced by the term lashing capacity (LC). The LC describes the allowable loading capacity of web lashings and is mandatory information on the label of all web lashings used throughout Europe. The STF is determined in EN 12195-2 using a hand force of 50 daN and must achieve at least 10 % LC, but no more than 50 % LC. In addition, the standard specifies strength testing of the tensioning lever and an alternating stress test of tensioning devices and tension retaining devices. |
