Alead seal is a seal for containers or housings. The German word "Plombe" originates from Latin: It comes from plumbum, which means lead.
By attaching a seal to a container or device, it is possible to subsequently determine whether the container or device has been opened (without authorisation). The removal of seals can be a punishable offence of destruction of documents.
