EN 1757-3 defines safety requirements for manual and semi-manual pedestrian-propelled industrial platform trucks
, such as e.g. design and construction, handling forces, wheels and rolls, stability, protectoin against squeeze and shear points and construction of corners and edges.
A central point is that platform trucks must be equipped with a parking brake.
EN 1757-3 is specified by the equipment safety law and is therefore obligatory for manual transport equipment sold in Germany.
