Verein für spastisch Gelähmte und andere Körperbehinderte e.V. (Association for persons with spastic cerebral palsy and other disabled persons)

In 1965, a parent self-help group started the Behindertenzentrum Alsbachtal (Center for disabled persons in Alsbachtal). The charitable Verein für spastisch Gelähmte und andere Körperbehinderte e.V. is the supporting organization. Today, Alsbachtal represents an exemplary early support, a therapeutic day-care centre, a residence for adults with severe multiple disabilities and assisted living. For many years, Alsbachtal is an accepted centre for persons with severe multiple disabilities and is supported for its basic services by Landschaftsverband Rheinland (regional authority Rhineland). However, the basic services do not provide any flexibilities for the "more", that provides happiness for the affected persons. Recreational activities, materials for handicraft work or short holidays. Activities that are normal for anybody. Alsbachtal is looking for sponsors to support these little moments of happiness.

Today, the welfare state has reached is limits. Therefore, these persons, who are the people with the greatest needs in our society, experience severe cut-backs. Money is required because it helps children and adults with disabilities to more happiness, Happiness that is normal for anybody, such as a visit to a fun fair or a day in the zoo.
