It was 1963, as the entrepreneur Hanns Loersch started selling slide mounts in the photo industry and a short time later Hanns Loersch GmbH & Co.KG was set up. In-house development and production of plastic slide mounts and framing machines followed.
The Quickpoint brand was born and developed into the third largest manufacturer in the world.
Initially based in Hüls and since 1972 at its present location in Straelen, in 1978 a branch was added in American Allentown, Pennsylvania.
In the 1990s, as the engineer Hanns Loersch got annoyed about the inadequate packaging for his slide mounts, the company simply developed bubble wrap films.
They were the first films on the market with the basic air cushion structure already on the reel. The engineering of the user machines could therefore be significantly simplified.
Initially smiled at, an innovation which nowadays is standard. With the start of digital photography, the company increasingly shifted its business focus to packaging systems. 40 years' experience in special mechanical engineering helped.
Today, Hanns Loersch GmbH & Co.KG is the only firm worldwide which develops and manufactures both machines and bubble wrap films.
The result is ideally coordinated, high-quality and reliable products.
The final break with the photo business in 2009 finally led to reorientation of Hanns Loersch GmbH & Co.KG. LPack became Airworks® - with a refined product range and a unique principle. AirStop.
