Students of the Heinrich-Heine-Gymnasiums visit Evers

During the "career orientation" project week, school students find out about companies, jobs and possible careers to train in. The aim is to give school students a realistic idea of business and to promote entrepreneurial thinking.

On Firday, 22 August 2008, a group of 8 students from the Heinrich-Heine grammar school and their teacher Dr. Tschacher visited Evers GmbH in Graf-Zeppelin-Straße.

During an in-depth tour of the company, the group found out about the function and organisation of a modern wholesale business. On the one hand, the young people can purposefully prepare for their working life. On the other hand, companies have an opportunity to find out about the potential performance of the students - its future trainees.

Following an in-depth tour of all departments and the large high-bay warehouse, Evers boss Johannes Trum introduced the young people to the skilled trade of manager in the wholesale and export business and answered numerous questions.

On 01 September 2008, 6 young people will start their training at Evers. Three of them will train under a so-called "tandem training" scheme of vocational training plus higher education course. Evers GmbH has successfully used this training system for many years. The trainees study at the "Fachhochschule für Oekonomie & Management" in Essen and Duisburg.

To date, Evers GmbH has offered each trainee an employment contract at the end of their training.
