"Bundesverdienstkreuz" (Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany) for Johannes Trum
On 19 November 2009, Johannes Trum was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on ribbon by Oberhausen's Mayor, Klaus Wehling. Johannes Trum received the award for his special commitment as a committed trainer and for his outstanding social commitment, especially for Alsbachtal centre for the disabled in Oberhausen.
For example, in 2007, Johannes Trum initiated a social sponsoring scheme for Alsbachtal centre for the disabled. Following the model of sport sponsoring, he called upon businesses and citizens to take on sponsorships for people with disabilities. 100% of each euro is guaranteed to be given to or used for the people in need of help. The sponsors themselves decide how much and for how long they want to undertake sponsorship. To date, 20 sponsorships have been undertaken. In this way, Alsbachtal centre for the disabled receives more than 30,000 euro per year.
